Aguinaldos
A folk genre of Christmas music derived from the Spanish "Villancicos". Parranderos—family or friends—go house to house singing these joyful carols, often with violin, cuatro, maracas, and furruco.

(aka Venezuelan Christmas Carols)
Gaitas
Venezuelan folk music from Maracaibo, Zulia state. Associated with Christmas all over the country, gaitas range from love songs and religious themes to humorous and political subjects.
Parrandas
An Afro-Indigenous musical form played in various coastal states of Venezuela. Also refers to a traditional carnival-like street party with roots going back to the 18th century.
Performances
